Hacker manages antique car via iPod touch
Specialist modify electronic circuits of a 1969 Pontiac to be
controlled by your iPod touch, check out the video
The mechanic / hacker / transformer cars Dave Phipps modifies vehicles
for years and decided to do something unusual gathering technology and
vintage cars. With a 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible in hand, Phipps
decided to include windows and doors machines, a wireless network and
voice control via Bluetooth in the vehicle. And all of it controlled by
an application for iPod touch that allows you to manipulate all systems
of the car on the fingertip.
How did he do that? The first step was the installation of Wi-Fi
network in the GTO transmitting a signal to your iPod touch. RedEye
with a router, normally used to turn the iPhone and iPod touch into a
universal remote, Phipps adapted it to the electronic systems of the
vehicle.
You can open the hood of the car, turn on the stereo, headlights, alarm
and even the engine with the choice of a button on the screen of the
iPod touch.
